Problem: Customer was installing windows and applications on each desktop.
Resolution: We built a standard windows image with applications and custom settings. The result was a 70% reduction in desktop deployment time. Our customer was now able to deploy a new or replacement desktop to employees in 2 hours instead of next business day.
Problem: Customer desktop deployment was error prone due to manual configuration steps.
Resolution: We rebuilt the image and added an automation menu. The automation menu listed each available site. The automation script would apply the necessary configuration and install any application. The result was reduction in error and allow faster turnover.
Problem: Customer needed to deploy a firewall to every store while managing costs.
Resolution: We switched the client to opensource router/firewall software, pfsense. Our client was able to reduce the TCO for each site by almost 50%. The cost reduction was achieved through pfsense requiring no per user or per device licensing fees as other solutions.
Problem: Customer could not get thier hyper-v automation script to work.
Resolution: We were able to fix thier script. We ported their script to windows powershell. The result was 60% reduction in server deployment time.
Problem: Customer needed shared storage but did not have the budget.
Resolution: We built a Fibre Channel SAN based on open source software. The result was a shared storage server that had an 80% lower cost than a commercial solution.
Problem: Customer needed to reduce shared rack space.
Resolution: We migrated several physical servers to virtual machines. The result was we were to shrink their physical server footpring to 2 physical servers instead of 8.
